Everton and Newcastle to contest for Premier League title?

Neither the Toffees or the Magpies have won the Premier League since its inception in 1992 but some football fans in Preston believe this year their fortunes could change.

Alan Pardew’s men, like Roberto Martinez’s Everton, have won at Old Trafford recently the home of champions Manchester United who now find themselves 13 points adrift in the title race.

Both have also beaten Chelsea at home too but with Newcastle, nine, and Everton seven points behind leaders Arsenal respectively it is hard to imagine either finally getting their hands on the Premier League trophy this season.

Martinez’s Everton travelled to the Emirates on Sunday and came out with a lot of credit after earning a draw, and Pardew’s Newcastle face the current leaders on 29th December.

The other conteders, aside from Everton and Newcastle are Arsenal and also the 2012 champions Manchester City who meet this Saturday at the Etihad.
