Arsenal Too Reliant on Giroud?

Many experts have had their say on Arsenal’s title ambitions this season with many saying that Arsene Wenger’s team rely too much on Olivier Giroud.

Time and time again so far this season pundits have said that if the Frenchman were to get injured it would seriously hamper the Gunners title ambitions.

The graph above shows that although Giroud is the club’s second top goalscorer so far this season that actually Aaron Ramsey has been the team’s talisman thus far this campaign as the Gunners sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League table after 13 matches.

It also details how all of the other areas of the team have been involved in scoring with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski all having scored more than once.

Add to that goals from defensive players such as Per Mertesacker, Bacary Sagna and even Mathieu Flamini then perhaps the Gunners will be able to mount a serious challenge especially if they are able to keep getting goals from all over the pitch.

It will be important for Arsene Wenger to have suitable back-up prepared in case of injury to Giroud but there are goals in other parts of the team.

The data shows and that with Lukas Podolski returning from injury in the coming weeks and midfielder such as Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil chipping in with goals, as well as Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal do have more than just Giroud capable of finding the back of the net.
